I had fun writing The Pines, although this was quite possibly the hardest of the prelude/interludes to get out. The first line is my main struggle, but typically, once I decide how the story start, it pretty much flows from there. Not so much with The Pines. Without exaggerating I wrote, deleted, and re-wrote the first seven hundred words about five times before I finally hit my stride and typed out the one that worked and allowed the rest of the story to flow.
I hope you all enjoy reading all nine of this Halloween's horror tales.
